Job Description:

Assumption of the function of project manager in accordance with §27 of the German Genetic Engineering Safety Ordinance.

  • Carrying out the planning, management/supervision of the genetic engineering work
  • Responsible for observing and implementing the relevant safety regulations
  • Responsibility for the documentation of the genetic engineering work
  • Communication with authorities and relevant organizations as well as supervision of official inspections, including implementation of official requirements and orders

The focus of your activity within our department will be the development of enzymes and biotransformations. Directed evolution will be used to enhance the enzyme performance. Reaction engineering will be applied to optimize the reaction conditions and yields.

Qualification:

  • PhD or equivalent in biocatalysis, biochemical engineering, biotransformations
  • 3 years of experience in the field of genetic engineering, in particular hands-on experience in enzyme screening and engineering
  • Experience in enzyme-catalyzed reactions and optimization, and/or bioprocess development.
  • Expertise or willingness to undergo training in accordance with German safety regulations
  • Experience in work with CO2 is a bonus
  • Experience in writing scientific manuscripts
  • German language skills desired, or willingness to undergo training
