Director at the Kohlenforschung receives highest honor of the German Society for Chemical and Biological Technology
Dechema, Germany’s Society for Chemical and Biological Technology, has announced Prof. Ferdi Schüth as their newest Honorary Member.
The Dechema, a German society for Chemical and Biological Technology, has appointed Prof. Dr. Ferdi Schüth and Prof. Dr. Rainer Diercks as their new honorary members. This highest honor awarded by Dechema was presented at the General Assembly in November of the year 2023.
According to a company statement, both professors have played a key role in shaping the fortunes of the institution as members of the Executive Board and have also had a strong influence on its organization.
Ferdi Schüth, Director at the Max Planck Institut für Kohlenforschung in Mülheim an der Ruhr for more than 25 years, has contributed to many of Dechema's specialist committees. In leading positions on committees for catalysis, zeolites and chemical reaction technology, and in particular through his almost twenty years on the Executive board, he has initiated numerous new topics as a source of ideas, accompanied many processes and thus significantly advanced Dechema.
Dechema brings together experts from different disciplines, institutions and generations to promote scientific exchange in chemical engineering, process engineering and biotechnology. The association searches for new technological trends, evaluates them and supports the implementation of research results in technical applications. More than 5,500 engineers, scientists, students, companies and institutions belong to the non-profit association.
