European Honors for Alois Fürstner

Award Ceremony took place during a conference in Dublin

Every two years, the EuChemS Division of Organic Chemistry Award for Research acknowledges the exceptional achievements of one scientist working in the field of organic chemistry in Europe.

At this year's 9th EuChemS Chemistry Congress in Dublin (EuChemS = European Chemical Society), Prof. Fürstner was presented with the "EuChemS Division of Organic Chemistry Award for Research 2023".

The citation reads: “for his many important contributions to contemporary catalysis research and, in parallel, his demonstration of the potential of homogeneous catalysis for target oriented synthesis by a truly impressive number of advanced applications in the total synthesis of natural products and compounds of biological interest.”
