The foundation Max Planck Institute for Kohlenforschung in Mülheim an der Ruhr is a renowned research institution that is over 100 years old and has already received two Nobel Prizes in its history. The institute is engaged in basic research in the field of catalysis with the aim of maximizing the efficient use of natural resources.
For the research areas “Homogeneous Catalysis” and “Sustainable Catalysis for Organic Synthesis” we are looking for a
Secretary
at international research institute
part-time
There is the possibility to work 15, 20 or 35 hours per week.
Your tasks:
- First point of contact for all administrative tasks of the department and independent processing of all general inquiries
- Preparation and planning of extensive international trips and their accounting
- Organization of internal seminars and workshops
- Supporting the recruitment of academic staff in the department (including visa matters)
- Onboarding of new employees
- Supervision and support of employees in the research area
- Planning and managing appointments
- Maintaining and updating the department's website
- Monitoring the personnel and material cost budget
- Management of third-party funded projects
- Maintaining and updating the publication list database
Your qualifications:
- Experience as a secretary in an international environment, ideally in the academic field
- Independent, proactive and structured way of working
- Very good written and spoken German and English skills are essential
- Good knowledge of MS Office
