August 30, 2016

A team of runners from the Max-Planck-Institut für Kohlenforschung participated for the first time in a company team run and won the mixed team valuation and became second on the male team valuation of the Mulheim RWW Ruhrauenlauf on the 10 kilometer distance. The team named “Schüth Group” consisted of eleven sporty employees of the Max-Planck-Institut für Kohlenforschung. The team ran in green T-Shirts showing the Institutes Minerva and the slogan “Fueled by Ferdi”. Despite of the high temperatures they won the mixed team run being much faster than the second best team. The running time of Daniel Jalapoor, Morton Brix Ley, Hannah Schreyer and Georgios Dodekatos amounted to 3 hours and 25 minutes, more than one hour faster than the next team.
The Schüth Team received their certificates together with a golden sports shoe as a medal.

“I am very proud of the team that participated for the first time and directly won the race. It is good to know that our employees are not only excellent in research but also very good sportsmen.”, Ferdi Schüth said when hearing about the success of his team.
